ELEGANT GYPSY - Julie Lyonn Lieberman

Devoted violinist, singer and composer, Julie Lyon Lieberman is a gift, both to her art, and her audience. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, Julie has a musical competence and style that only a true natural can claim. Today she sings, performs and teaches improvisation in sixteen styles, using her violin and her voice with artful finesse and unparalleled creativity.

In addition to adapting the classical violin to contemporary performance, Julie has conducted workshops at the famed Julliard School of Music in New York City, where she taught Musicianship Through World Music. The author of five books, her book 'You Are Your Instrument' teaches musicians how to practice and perform without injuring themselves. She also has two National Public Radio series to her credit.

An elegant, deeply spiritual lady, Julie becomes every bit a lyrical gypsy when she gives performances - her voice a babbling brook joyfully accompanied by her own violin. She is sculpted in a relaxed and composed posture, stilled in anticipation of the next ecstatic movement.
