Guardian III - Beloved Benefactor

Born to Belgian aristocracy, Jacques Rittweger DeMoor immigrated to Quebec in 1970, quickly becoming a revered mentor and an articulate supporter of the artists' community in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada.

One of the advisors behind the formation of the Drummondville Artists' Guild, Jacques encouraged artists to promote and market their work internationally. Consultant and advisor to many symposiums and cultural events, his energies have attracted many of the fine sculptures which enrich Drummondville's landscape. From supporting the Conseil du Sculpture du Quebec, to the first Mackinaw Folk Festival and Art Auction in 1987, Jacques remains a vocal proponent of the idea that arts can support a community, as well as the community can support the arts.

Equipped with a Doctorate in Jurisprudence, and his very unique brand of dry wit, Jacques is honoured with title of 'favourite old chap' by the many children in his midst. His portrait reflects his passion for family -- especially youngsters, speaking of a devoted and caring individual who lives to share, to teach and to inspire.

A Guardian of action, Jacques was last seen stripping the trees and hewing the logs needed for artists contributing to ESSARTS, the new sculpture park in St. Pie de Guire, Canada.

"Be obscure clearly."
